As diverse as the city is, so is its lingo. Manglish is a unique blend of English and other languages spoken in the city. A sentence usually compromises words from 3 languages. So how great would it be to be fluent in Manglish. Here are some phrases to get you sounding like a local.

General lingo.

 

Hello/ Hai — Hello/Hi

Apa khabar? = (How are you?)

Selamat pagi = (Good morning)

A word to use in any sentence =Lah (I’m hungry lah!)

Selamat tinggal/Babai = when you want to bid someone goodbye

Terima kasih (te-ree-mah ka-seh) = Thank you

Eating out/ shopping lingo.

 

Drink tea = Yum Cha (a phrase said when people want to hangout)

Kurang manis (koo-raang maa-nees) = Less sweet

Tambah pedas / Kurang pedas (tam-bah pe-das / koo-raang pe-das) = Extra spicy / Less spicy

Sedap (se-daap) = Tasty

Dah makan (daa-h maa-kan) = Have you eaten?

Transport from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

 

There are 3 ways to get from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Seoul - by train, bus and taxi.

Klia Ekspress or Metro

Possibly the fastest and most efficient way to get to the city center is to use the train service. The Ekspress takes only about 28 minutes and is a comfortable journey.

 

Bus transport.

Although the bus is the cheapest option it also takes the longest, taking about 70 minutes to reach the city. However the ride is quite comfortable and you get to witness some of KL’s amazing road networks.

 

Taxi.

Taxis are widely available at the Airport exits and will take you to any destination. The journey to the city center is around 50 minutes and you can pay by the meter. The size of the vehicle will depend on you or your pieces of luggage.
