Tipping.

Restaurants and bars- Standard etiquette would be to tip 10% of your bill.

Taxi- Round up the fare. But if you get a particularly friendly or helpful driver, tip around 10-15% of the fare price.

Hotels- If your hotel has a porter, and they are friendly and efficient in helping you carry your luggage, the equivalent of a couple of dollars is the generally accepted tip.

Transport from Václav Havel Airport.

There are 4 ways to get from the Airport to Prague City center - by bus, uber, private transfer or rent a car.

Airport Express Bus.

The AE Express service is the fastest and most convenient way to get between Prague airport and the city centre. Tickets cost €2.34 for a one-way adult ticket and it takes around 25-40 minutes depending on traffic.

Uber.

Uber is both more reliable and popular than regular taxis. The cost of the journey is calculated in the app unlike taxis that rip of customers. An Uber from Prague Airport to the city centre costs around €20, depending of course on the time of day, and severity of traffic.

Rent a car.

Another way to get from Prague airport to the city centre is to rent your own car. This is an especially good idea if you're planning to do visit more places in the Czech Republic, beyond Prague.

Private Transfer.

A private transfer from Prague airport to the centre costs more or less the same as an Uber but comes with the added advantage of knowing you will be getting a hand-picked and well-trained driver. Ideal for late night arrivals too. For private transfers check Welcome Pickups, who will arrange a driver to wait for you at the terminal exit with a sign.

Best time to travel.

The best times to visit Prague are the spring and early fall when the weather is mild and there are fewer crowds.
